‘Recycling Narratives’
Recycling Narratives
Opening: Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 6pm
Hours: January 12-16, 11-18h
“Recycling Narratives” is an exhibition including 17 international and local artists that explores the concept of reusing and repurposing personal stories in creative ways. The show features a variety of works that use visual narrative elements from different sources to create new stories and meanings. It will consist of works in different mediums, such as painting, sculpture, video, and mixed media installations. Each piece will be accompanied by a written explanation of how the artist has recycled narratives in their work.
The show will be curated around the idea of using existing personal narratives as a jumping-off point to create something new. It will feature artists who have taken familiar stories, experiences, and reflections and given them a contemporary twist. The show will also include interactive elements, such as a collaborative storytelling project where visitors can contribute to a shared narrative using recycled materials provided by the artist.
Overall, “Recycling Narratives” aims to explore the power of personal experiences and the ways in which we can use existing narratives to create new works of art. The show invites visitors to consider the ways in which they can re purpose their own stories and find new meaning in familiar narratives.
